By default in Windows 7 you can not pin the hard drive link on the taskbar. If you are not satisfied with this situation, you can use these simple steps:

1. First, create a file supported by this feature, for example. exe: it is enough to create on the desktop a text file with the correct name, then change the extension from .txt to .exe.
2. Next, you need to pin the created file (Right-click → Pin to the taskbar), right-click on the shortcut and in the properties of the file change the line "Object:" onto the path to the drive (C:, D:, etc.). In the file properties, you can set the appropriate shortcut icon, just apply the changes and restart explorer.exe to refresh the icons.
3. That is it. The original file from the desktop can be deleted.
