Faster shutdown of operating system Windows 7
This short article describes how you can reduce the time it takes to shutdown the Windows 7 operating system, due to the change in the system delay time before the computer shuts down.
To change the delay, you can use the Registry Editor (press Win+R → type "regedit" → OK) by editing just one paramenter in the section:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WaitToKillServiceTimeout" – this parameter is responsible for the delay before shutting down the system.
The default value is 20000 = 20 seconds, but you can set a lower value and the system will complete it's work faster.
It is not recommended to set values less than 3000-5000 (3-5 sec), otherwise the system will not adequately understand the lack of respose from services and complete them in the "wrong" time, for example when they retain their last settings.
